Category: Magic Types

Earth

Earth magic governs the physical world: soil, stone, beasts, plants, decay, and bone. Treat dirt well, and it becomes a home. Treat it poorly, and it becomes a tomb.

Core Concepts: growth, stability, ancestry, endurance, life and death
Moral Perception: grounding, ancient, powerful, sometimes ominous

Subcategories of Earth Magic

Stone: shaping rock, strengthening walls, fortification
Metal: forging, magnetic manipulation, armorcraft
Plantshaping: growth acceleration, plant communication
Beastbonding: empathy or control of animals
Bonecraft: shaping fossil or skeletal material
Decay: controlling rot for compost or decomposition
Dust: sand, soil manipulation, erosion, excavation

Corrupted / Dark Earth

Earth-Hollowing: draining life from soil, stone, or living bodies to create empty husks.
Husking: Pulling corpses from the ground and manipulating them.

Air

Air is the element of words. Some come as whispers, some as storms, but all of them carry intention.

Core Concepts: freedom, thought, sound, motion, perception
Moral Perception: sacred by some, fickle and uncanny by others

Subcategories of Air Magic

Wind: movement, speed, gusts, sustained currents
Stormcalling: thunder, pressure shifts, violent winds
Soundweaving: controlling vibrations, amplifying or silencing
Whispers: long-distance communication through air
Illusion: bending light and sound to distort appearance
Breath: influencing stamina, calm, voice, or speaking ability
Flight / Levitation: extremely rare; usually limited, gliding-like

Corrupted: Dark Air

Mind-Hollowing: removing a person’s “inner voice,” making them a void of themselves
Puppet-Breathing: controlling the air inside a body to move them
Echo-Possession: trapping thoughts or memories in air currents, effecting and erasing memory

Water

Water does not obey. It listens, considers, and decides. If it carries you, it is because it has allowed you to live.

Core Concepts: intuition, navigation, connection, flow, emotion
Moral Perception: sacred, powerful, unpredictable

Subcategories of Water Magic

Ice: cold, preservation, shaping solid water
Mist & Fog: concealment, disorientation
Tidecalling: wave shaping, current manipulation, sea-path control
Raincalling: weather influence
Healing: hydration, cellular repair, organ cooling
Reflection: memory reading, emotional sensing
Prophecy: extremely rare; visions from water’s memory

Corrupted: Dark Water

Desiccation: drying the water inside living bodies
Bloodbinding: controlling a person’s blood and movement
Drowning-in-Air: pulling moisture from lungs
These forms are feared, but in medicine, some are practiced in legal, highly regulated ways (blood-stilling for surgery, for example). Water’s corruption is always tied to life’s fluids used unnaturally.

Fire

Fire is never born cruel. It becomes what we ask of it: warmth in a hearth, light in a storm, or ruin on a battlefield. Blame the hand, not the flame.

Core Concepts: passion, creation, destruction, industry, vitality
Moral Perception: volatile, feared, necessary, powerful

Subcategories of Fire Magic

Heat: raising or lowering temperature, smelting, forging
Light: illumination, guiding beacons, radiant bursts
Combustion: controlled explosions, ignition, wildfire
Molten: lava shaping, rock-fire fusion
Lightning: rare; stormfire born from heat and sky
Mind-Fire: influencing passion, drive, courage

Corrupted: Dark Fire

Rekindling: The forbidden art of resurrection, practiced only in secret and outlawed everywhere. It does not restore life cleanly. Fire’s corrupted form is anything that tries to spark life where it no longer belongs.
